The focus of the concentration in Computer Systems is to ensure students:
-Learn and apply the basics of collaborative learning and project management skills to teamwork throughout the program.
-Understand the foundational operating systems knowledge for Windows 2000, Unix and Linux operating systems.
-Explain the primary components of a network.
-Configure and troubleshoot a network operating system.
-Learn the principles of programming using HTML to design simple web pages.
-Demonstrate an ability to program for database connectivity and deploy an application over a network.
-Understand and apply the principles of object-oriented programming for web applications.
-Create secure, scalable active web sites.
-Develop queries, forms and reports in Microsoft Access database using SQL.
-Understand and execute the basic tools and concepts of administering and Oracle database.
