Law Enforcement - Bachelor's Degree

To help meet the demand for dedicated professionals with the knowledge and skills to pursue exciting opportunities in the growing field of criminal justice, AIU Online has added two new career-focused concentrations to its Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (BSCJ) degree completion program.

Our security-conscious society has dictated the need for a growing number of qualified criminal justice professionals. The field offers an increasingly specialized range of interesting career directions for students attracted by the challenges and sense of personal responsibility inherent to such jobs. AIU Online's new concentrations are designed to help students acquire industry-current credentials to take advantage of real-world career opportunities.

The BSCJ with a concentration in Law Enforcement is now offered to students with aspirations to pursue career paths that can include DEA Agent, State Insurance Fraud Investigator and many others. Learning from experienced instructors, students can absorb career-relevant knowledge that can immediately be applied in real-world professional situations. Instructors will cover material including:
• The elements of investigation, including crime scenes, witnesses and evidence, investigative techniques, evidence documentation, interrogation and arrest.
• Issues involving police ethics, police culture, and the public image of police agencies in the media.
• The history and theories of crime prevention and preventative methods employed by police agencies and much more.
