This specialized associate of applied science degree program emphasizes an understanding of business and an introduction to the use of computers in business.
Students who elect may continue in the bachelor's of science degree program in business administration. They may also choose to continue in the bachelor's of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in information technology, financial management, international business, management, or marketing.
Graduates are prepared for various entry-level positions in such business areas as banking, sales, insurance, finance, management, office supervision, or real estate.
The program will: *provide business students with thorough understanding of theory and application related to the business environment so they can collect and analyze data, identify alternative solutions and select the most appropriate course of action for specific business problems. *develop students' knowledge and skills in research, critical thinking, problem-solving and current technology for application and use in communication, data collection/analysis and solving business problems. *involve students in teamwork/leadership development through participation in classroom activities and/or student organizations. *provide students with an understanding of professional ethics and its application to the business environment. *measure key student learning outcomes continuously and identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
